SO WHO THE HELL IS DICK BUSH ANYWAY?

I graduated The London Film School in 2006 when a colleague from the school, who was working at an adult film company called Relish, asked if I wanted to come for an interview for a job as an assistant. The interview was something I'd never forget and I got the job the following week. Almost immediately they got me camera operating on set and I eventually started writing and directing for them.

Needless to say, with this new job I was never without conversation at parties and was always surprised about how girls seemed to be so much more interested me now that I filmed sex for a living!

OH REALLY, SO WHAT FILMS HAVE YOU MADE THEN?

For Relish I directed Asscapades 2: Ass Harder, Asscapades 3: Missionary Impossible, Girls With Guns, Girls With Guns 2, Wife Swap, Field of Teens, Fresh Faced Fuckers 2, Fresh faced Fuckers 3 and Bollywood Banging as well as shooting and editing a host of others.

AND WHAT ARE YOU UP TO THESE DAYS?

I’m working for an awesome company called KaizenXXX, where we’ve made a few series' for Television X including Jobs For The Boys 2, Screwed (Shafta nominated), Powergirls (Shafta winner) and Diamond Geezers.

SO IS THIS A BLOG OR WHAT?

It’s actually a book I’m writing called ADULT: The Ins and Outs of a Porn Director and basically tells a witty, if occasionally lewd and crude account of my entry into the business and how it affected my (sex) life, as well as giving a peak at how the industry works from a filmmaker's point of view. A lot of people see porn as seedy and dirty and from looking at the end product it is understandable. I'm hoping to show how the UK porn industry is one big family, where all the performers know each other, that the making of these films is very different to the final, polished product. I include a number of amusing stories, which not many people get to know about. For instance did you know that it's only after shooting the ‘come shot’ that you shoot the guy's facial reactions for it. So you stand in front of this male porn star, who’s totally naked, aiming the camera up at him as he wanks his enormous penis near your face, pretending to orgasm. It the single most weirdest part of the job!
